So this thing is great! I wanted it because it's small enough to mount on my PedalTrain 2 pedal board. I had been using a VOX ToneLab SE, but that meant I had to carry the ToneLab and my regular pedal board to gigs. I'm all about carrying less gear! heheh! Seriously, though, this little pedal is awesome! It takes some time to learn how to create the sounds that are right for you, but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy! Basically, I went though every single preset, wrote down the ones that I liked, marking if they were clean tones, distorted, etc. Then I went back and picked several of those to tweak to my own liking. I came up with about 6 user presets that I use during live shows. Only downside is that you can only scroll up and down through your presets. The ToneLab had 4 foot switches, so I could jump from preset 1 to 4 in one press of a foot switch. That's not possible on the Stomplab. So keep the tones you use in one song grouped together. I usually don't use more than two in a song, so it's not that bad, really. That's my only con so far, and I've been using this for several months. If you're interested, I'm playing it through a VOX AC30C2. For some smaller stages, at some casino gigs, I'll go direct without an amp. That's another reason I got this pedal. It'll be great for certain gigs where an amp takes up too much space, and would be too loud for the way the venue is set up. There is also a setting that allows you to select if you are playing direct into the board, or if you are playing it though an amp. You can alos pick 3 or 4 different amp styles, so you can set it for the type of amp you are playing through. That's definitely a cool feature!I would definitely recommend the VOX Stomplab IIG for any guitarist that is looking for tons of tone and effects, packed into a smaller package. For the price, this thing is a no-brainer! Great for playing live, recording, or just practicing. Hope this review helped you!I've attached couple of pics, including one of the Stomplab on my board, so you can see how it compares in size to other pedals.
